Sorry, im a bit behind the times on this one, but Gravitate mountain bike festival is on this week. Mountain bikes you say, have you gone comepletly mad? Most definately! Cairns is a small place and we take what we can get. Tonight is the Bowl Jam at the Smithfield downhill, which is pretty much a hardtail/BMX dirt comp, and they also have a pump track. So if you got nothing on then head on out for a look and support local "extreme sports" haha. And if your a hungry kid, then bring you bike and have a roll. Should be a good night!

Frontload stems are still in high abundance.
Topload stem samples should be done in a couple of weeks, and they are gonna be gods gift to a BMX bike (assuming real-life testing all goes well).
New (as yet top secretly named) frames should be here next month to. 20.8 and 21.25, simpler smoother design, removable bits and pieces, probaly a bit lighter, shorter backend, smaller dropouts, laser cut gusset design, and exclusive seat clamp design (and by exclusive i mean if it doesnt go down well, then there will only ever be 4 in the whole world) When they get in , we will be doing some testing and ill post some photos.

Oh, almost forgot, Soco has made his triumphant return to ye olde Cairns vegas and has been digging. And its about time haha

First up, the best kickboxing fight ever to go down in the history of human civilaization (stolen from Darryls facebook, sorry Daz). Just watch; and be amazed.
Secondly, Magnetic island's skatepark (just off Townsville) has recently had what can only be described as the most fucking ugliest monstrosity of a structure erected over it, to not only give some shade to those shredding, but to hold up 474 solar panels. (equates to about 100Kw, or enough to power 22 homes on a good sunny day) Cost: im guessing at least a million bucks. Maybe i am just being pesimistic, but honestly, somone got paid to come up with something and thats the best they got? Check out the colour scheme and you decide for yourself.

The absolute awesomeness of travel really cannot be stressed highly enough! Even if you were on the dole you could afford to fly to Japan from Cairns. Never mind the radiation, thats only only up the top half. Awesome food, fantastic people, awesome place, easy to get around (JR Pass!), plenty to ride, so safe you can sleep on the street if you are that way inclined, and about as different from Australia as you are ever gonna find, which isnt a bad thing sometimes. There is only one person stopping you; and thats you!

...its a touchy subject. Personally i hate the whole ideology of it, but the catch 22 is that we live in a capitalist society. Short of becoming a tree hugging hippie, moving to the Bloomfield, and roaming around in a lap lap, you have to, to some degree, live somwhere within its dictated constarints to survive with any manner of dignity. Luckily Nightfall has been running in the red since day one, so no moral dilemnas there, just yet.

Obviously this is a sad ass excuse for a bunch of photos, but there honestly isnt much time or motivation left between being hungover and finding your nearest drinking establishment again.

Bike pile at the Newcastle beach which is home to what can only be described as a behemoth of a bowl. Sorry, no photo of that! Hopeless!

"Sexy Lexy", probably still drunk. Come 3 or 4 the same day his smirk was gone, and he was a quivering mess after spewing in a garden. From the night before mind you. Now that is one stellar effort, from a stellar indivual.

Pretty sure this is Sam busting a very nice table out of a very nice looking curved wall. Plenty of shit got done here, none of which i photographed. Hopeless! Somehow Leigh G hit this flat out from the top, dropped in, then popped back out the other side...i'm still quite confused about that.

Fortunately for Mulesy, the powers that be didnt put any signs up saying "No riding on Anchor" or he may have had himself a bit of a moral dilemna. A couple of seconds after this shot was caught he dropped in off it, almost gapped to road, hopped a curb, mounted a verandah, and gapped over a fairly sizable fence. Then he redid it for the camera a few times. It was pretty sweet! You might catch that one in some Anchor content one day.

Camping, at Stockton dunes. Apparently illegally, as we found out in the morning. I can only assume that one of the many number of 4x4 heroes that drove past us dobbed us in. My personal favourite was the young bloke with the brand new V8 cruiser ute (covered in every goddamn 4x4 accessory known to man) who stopped behind the bus, took about 30 minutes to let his 35x12.5" tyres down (which im guessing was to try show the shiela in the car he had some kind of idea), drove past us into the sand and pretty much made it to where Lexi's brother made it to the night before. In a Hyundai (or something similar). I guess ARB didnt explain to him when exactly to utilse his expensive air lockers, and the low range option the vehicle comes with, because he got out to let more air out. Money cant buy everything after all, not even common sense. Note: Stockton dunes are fucking amazing!

Mulesy, probably saying "Goodbye Newcastle, im gonna miss you". And "Godamn you, i was gonna do that crazy rail hop again you bastard, but its blowing 30 knot's".

After saying our goodbyes to everyone in Sydney, and drying our eyes, we had to chill til my aunty finshed doing some shit so we could get a key and some floor space. Fortunately for us, some seriously fucking awesome person, thought it would be a good idea to leave all these deck chairs in the heart of Sydney on George st. Fan-fucking-tastic. You my friend, are winning like Charlie Sheen. What a top idea, honestly! Should be more of it!

About four minutes before this shot, Mulesy offered the security gaurd fifty bucks to do a "bmx stunt" as he so elequontly put it, on the big flat bank you see in the background. Mulesy didnt think he had a chance, he was dead right! Oh well, like they say in the NT; you never never know if you never never go.

Mulesy, working against the clock. And soon after, attempting to avoid death by collision with joggers that obviosly wear "blinkers".

Dylan, twisting his lady killer frame into the little known yoga position: the turndown. Off a pretty much non existent kicker. If Dylan moved this fast all the time, he could definately take up professional boxing....and win!

Mulesy threw his bars 360 degrees on this fairly well known Sydney obstacle way more times than he was originally anticipating, due to it being alot darker than this photo would have you believe. This was the best bar position i could manage, problem is, i missed his head. Hopeless! Whilst fucking arouund here Dylan thought he saw Kevin Rudd on the phone, i thought it was Julian Assange. So Dylan holla's out "Hey Ruddy!". Well fuck me, it was Kevin Rudd, so he comes over and introduces himself, "Hi, im Kevin". To which we respond, "yeh, we know". Then he got back on the phone (probably to save Japan or something), and he wandered off. This country is way to small. First we run into Derrick Mellishs traumatised ex in melb, Dylan gets on facebook with some random bird looking extremely intoxicated, all cause of some nightclub photographer, we run in Chay in the cross, and now we run into ole Kevin Rudd. Its time to go home!
Ah, there we go. Cairns-mother-fucking-vegas! Ha Ha Humidity? Check! Hot weather? Check! Cold XXXX? Check!
The only thing missing is that feeling you get from laughing so hard, the good people we met, and that sweet sweet Victorian brewed VB. Thanks to anyone we ran into, Shit was to much fun! Novel finished, im over typing.

So Mulesy, Dylan, and myself got back into Cairns yesterday only to discover its still hot as hell. Nice to see some blue sky in Cairns though for a change. Thanks heaps to Leigh G and all the Anchor guys for letting us hitch a ride. We met some characters, rode some new stuff, and had a genuinely awesome time. Cheers heaps! Due to the obvious drinking commitments of such a stellar adventure i didnt take enough photos, and didnt film fuck all either. But ill attempt to slap something up this week. Oh, dirtpipe is rained out to. Last correspondance i got from our defector "set" rider was that everyone was getting drunk an "loooooose" (with that many o's). Cant argue with that!

Here is a photo of the frame that we did with purple metal flake, if you are chasing a bangin frame, with an original paint job, then hit us up, cause we can do it. This particular one is exclusive to Edge cycles so go suss it there and hit up Vince for a deal.

The candy apple red one is a replacement for local dude Dave here in Cairns. This colour is jinxed!! The first one we sold him was fire engine red 2-pack, it started peeling cause of the primer we used. The secong one looked like a translucent pink panther, as we were dabbling with some new paint. We gave up on the candy apple at this point. We then did another one with 2-pack, the stand got snagged when rolling up the air hose. It fell on the lawn as it was drying. That frame narrowly avoided complete anhilation due to the fact there was nothing within immediate reach that could be used to inflict blunt force trauma to a bunch of TIG welded chrome molybdenum tubing. Many expletives followed! We then did this one in the candy with cobra clear over base. Finally! What a bunch o hopeless fucks. Due to work commitments, alcohol intake, etc etc this process took place over a couple month timeframe. Im pretty sure Dave was fully over it. As were we! Our sincerest apologies, sorry bout the replacement delay mate. Dont stress, we got that shit sussed now. Haha
Levi has busted his scafoid. Hes out for 6 weeks, so he has been training for the beer drinking olympics, hangin with his Finnish missus, and generally chillin. Nothing new there haha. I got some sweet riding shots of him. But, due to the fact i dont want do anything that could possibly place in jeopordy his million dollar contract with "The Set", i aint puttin them up. Conflict of interest an all. Check their site maybe, cause thats where im sending em.
Dylan has started his apprenticeship at La Bomba Loca tattoo shop, with Adam and Usuke. Here he is getting some pratice in on Mulesys foot.

Mulesy is kind of a hard person to get results out of (photos, videos, blah blah blah) but thats mostly becuase im completley hopeless, and its hard to find people to film up here. But dont you ever underestimate this kid, Mulesy can seriously do anything on his bike...shit you not, its rediculous how much skill he actually has.

Its a sad thing when you gotta spread bad news about someones life being cut short. Jackson was unfotunately involved in an accident with a truck riding home from work and passed away. His funeral is today. For anyone who knew Jackson and even those who didn't, head down the skate park tomorow arvo (sat the 9th) between 2 and 4 to celebrate Jacksons life and pay your respects. Deepest condolences to Jacksons family and friends during this tough time.

He is coherent, but he tore his spleen in half, and apparently by some stroke of luck it has stopped bleeding and is healing back together by itself. We told him he wasnt as tough as Luke Issacson, cause Luke actually had his removed and has a mad scar. But Danza reckons hes so tough he didnt even need his removed. ...is all over and done. There would have been somewhere in the number of 70-100 people im guessing, and im pretty sure everyone had a sweet time. There was only two major casualtys, hopefully Danza and Tyson will be feeling better soon. It was especially awesome to see a heap of younger kids shredding some not so small jumps. I didnt get a single photo (what a retard), so if anyone has any good ones, please let us know via facebook or our hotmail, and maybe we can do some wheeling and dealing. ...so here is a couple of pics of some newish stuff happening. This is pretty much the new shirt design. Picture on the front, text on the back. In all the gayest colours of the rainbow haha...dont worry, we got black to.

And this is the updated sprocket(same same but different). If you can understand a technical drawing then it will make sense. If not, basicly we have made it simpler, and lighter with some internal machining in the arms. Due to the fact that capitalism is gay as fuck, and we are sinking like a rock, we will most probably be getting a batch of these done in Taiwan. With possibly, a small Aussie optional batch for the die hards (of which we have found there are very few). There is also one other minor detail that will be differnt, but you will have to wait and see what that is when the time comes.
